Thirteen Emmanuel College students were inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society in business, management and administration, on Tuesday, March 27th.

This spring, six Emmanuel College students were inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, is the only honor society for graduate and upper-level undergraduate students of government in the United States.

This spring, 10 Emmanuel College students were inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the international sociology honor society. Alpha Kappa Delta seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.

This spring, 10 Emmanuel College students were inducted into Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society. Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society is the international honor society of science and engineering. One of the oldest and largest scientific organizations in the world, Sigma Xi has a distinguished history of service to science and society for more than one hundred and twenty five years. Scientists and engineers, whose research spans the disciplines of science and technology, comprise the membership of the Society. Sigma Xi chapters can be found at colleges and universities, government laboratories, and industry research centers around the world. More than 200 Nobel Prize winners have been members.

Emmanuel College Administrative Orientation Leaders Sarah Knight '19 and Julie Royce '19 received the Region IX Showcase Award for Best Presentation by Undergraduate Students at the Association for Orientation, Transition and Retention in Higher Education (NODA) Region IX Conference, which took place in Burlington, Vermont, from February 23-25.

Emmanuel College celebrated its 95th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 13, 2017, adding hundreds of graduates to the global network of Emmanuel alumni who are making their mark on the world. At the ceremony, speakers congratulated the graduates on their achievements while also calling on members of the Class of 2017 to serve their communities and work for a greater good. This message was central to the remarks given by Commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient Rosanne Haggerty, M.A., President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Solutions, a New York-based organization dedicated to ending homelessness, strengthening communities and fighting poverty. Emmanuel's other honorary degree recipients were also praised for their dedication to helping others and for their professional achievements. At the event, the College conferred an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree on Wayne A. Budd, Esq., Senior Counsel at Goodwin Procter LLP, and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree on Elaine El-Khawas, Ph.D., Professor Emerita of Education Policy at George Washington University and long-serving member of the Emmanuel College Board of Trustees.

Emmanuel College celebrated its 94th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 14, 2016, adding hundreds of graduates to the global network of Emmanuel alumni who are making their mark on the world. The pursuit of justice and the importance of practicing grace in these challenging times were the predominant themes expressed by Commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient Reverend Liz Walker, veteran television journalist and current Pastor of Roxbury Presbyterian Church, and honorary degree recipient Patricia McGuire, the longtime President of Trinity Washington University.

The Saints Women's Cross Country Team took home the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship, their second in the last three years, on Saturday, October 31st, in the 5k race at Saint Joseph's College in Maine.

Top-seeded Emmanuel College rolled to a 13-6 win over No. 2 Mount Ida College on Saturday, April 25th, to win the program's second-consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Lacrosse Championship. With an overall record of 13-4, the Saints have now earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Two Emmanuel students, Johanna Salisbury '15 and Hilary Skov '15, were recently named 2015-2016 Fulbright U.S. Student Grant recipients. Salisbury will work as an English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Andorra, and Skov will work as an ETA in Indonesia.
