Emmanuel Student Leaders Honored at NODA Conference

Emmanuel College Administrative Orientation Leaders Sarah Knight '19 and Julie Royce '19 received the Region IX Showcase Award for Best Presentation by Undergraduate Students at the Association for Orientation, Transition and Retention in Higher Education (NODA) Region IX Conference, which took place in Burlington, Vermont, from February 23-25.

Their educational session, "Back and Better than Ever: The Role of the Returning Orientation Leader," explored the value of returning Orientation Leaders (OLs) to orientation teams and programs, shared best practices for training and utilizing returning OLs that Emmanuel College has implemented, and provided a forum for robust conversation on the topic.

The NODA Conference brings together orientation leaders, graduate students and professionals from other colleges and universities in the region to share experiences, exchange ideas and to explore important and relevant issues in the field of orientation, transition and retention. Region IX includes New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, as well as the Canadian provinces of Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.
