Nursing Students Expand Horizons through Japan Trip
More than 20 students from the School of Nursing recently explored cultural, historical, and medical sites in Japan. The 10-day trip included stops in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka to visit healthcare facilities, Sensoji Temple, Hiroshima Castle and more.

Two Emmanuel students were recently recognized for outstanding poster presentations at a national biomedical conference. School of Science and Health students Astrid Noriega '26 and Kiana Rodriguez '27 received the awards in November at the annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS) in San Antonio, Texas.

More than 40 nursing students at Emmanuel College recently showcased their research skills and knowledge of best practices through PICOT presentations. PICOT is short for: Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Time; It's a research framework used in nursing to structure clinical questions for evidence-based practice.

Emmanuel Nursing Students Promote Growth Through Peer Mentoring
More than 60 juniors and seniors at the Emmanuel College School of Nursing are providing support and guidance for their fellow students through peer mentoring this fall. Offered through the School of Nursing Club, the peer mentoring program also organizes community-building events, such as a recent peer mentoring crafts night. Additionally, participants receive support from the faculty peer mentoring team.

Emmanuel Students Present Research at APA Conference
Three Emmanuel students presented research at the American Psychological Association (APA) conference in Denver over the summer. The students presented findings from a pair of research collaborations when Dr. Clare Mehta, which focused on body image and stressors during the "established adulthood" phase of life. They also connected with a wide range of people and ideas at the conference, which is the world's largest gathering of psychologists and psychology students.

'Day of Service' Helps New Students Build Connections
Building community through service has always been a priority at Emmanuel College. For students in the Class of 2029, it'll also be one of their first memories of pursuing higher education in the Heart of Boston. Rising early on the last day before the official start of the academic year, more than 360 new Saints fanned out across Boston and beyond to volunteer at food shelves, homeless shelters, and other organizations that meet vital community needs through the New Student Day of Service.

Latest Emmanuel Fulbright Winner Traveling to Argentina
Gabrielle Wenc '22 G'23 traveled to Argentina through an Emmanuel Study Abroad trip in 2020, and she's looking forward to returning in 2026 through the US Fulbright Student Program. Fulbright is a cultural exchange program through which scholars travel to a host country to pursue their studies, complete research, or in Wenc's case, teach English. She is the 17th Fulbright Scholar from Emmanuel College in the past 14 years. A graduate of Emmanuel's Bachelor's and Master's of Education via the 4+1 program, Wenc has spent the last few years teaching different levels of high school Spanish, first at Boston Latin School and currently at Acton-Boxboro.

Emmanuel Inducts 10 to Criminal Justice Honor Society
Emmanuel College recently inducted 10 students into Pi Epsilon Zeta, a local chapter of the Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society. Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society, is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership, and unity. Applicants must rank within the top 35% of their class and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.
