Emmanuel College celebrated its 96th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 12, 2018, adding hundreds of graduates to the global network of Emmanuel alumni who are making their mark on the world. Nationally-recognized sports journalist, author and television broadcaster Jackie MacMullan delivered the Commencement address and received an honorary degree. The College also conferred honorary degrees on Charles F. Monahan Jr., president of MCPHS University, and Sister Mary Alice McCabe, SNDdeN, who has dedicated her life to serving others in Brazil and Nicaragua. While touching on current issues such as the #MeToo movement and immigration, speakers delivered messages of courage and determination in the face of adversity.

More than 70 Emmanuel College student-athletes were named to the 2017-2018 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Academic All-Conference Team. In order to be eligible, a student must have a 3.25 cumulative grade point average during the academic year and have reached second-year academic status.

In honor of their outstanding academic achievement, Emmanuel College has named more than 600 students to the Dean's List for the Spring 2018 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

Thirteen Emmanuel students were inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the international honor society for sociology, on Thursday, April 26.

Three Emmanuel College students were inducted into Sigma Iota Rho, the honor society for international studies and international relations, on Thursday, April 12.

Six Emmanuel students were inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the national honor society for political science on Thursday, April 12.

On Tuesday, April 17, Emmanuel held its annual induction ceremony for Beta Beta Beta, the national biology honor society. In all, Emmanuel inducted 40 members-26 Regular Members and 14 Associate Members.

Forty talented Emmanuel student artists were inducted into the Kappa Pi International Art Honor Society on Sunday, April 15.

More than 40 Emmanuel students were inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the national leadership honor society, on Tuesday, April 24.

Thirteen Emmanuel College students were inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society in business, management and administration, on Tuesday, March 27th.

Emmanuel College Administrative Orientation Leaders Sarah Knight '19 and Julie Royce '19 received the Region IX Showcase Award for Best Presentation by Undergraduate Students at the Association for Orientation, Transition and Retention in Higher Education (NODA) Region IX Conference, which took place in Burlington, Vermont, from February 23-25.

During the week of March 5th, seven Emmanuel students and staff members participated in the College's inaugural Alternative Spring Break (ASB) trip to Houston, Texas. ASB is a week-long, faith-based service trip held during the College's traditional spring break that bridges volunteer work with education and reflection on larger social issues.

Emmanuel College celebrated its 95th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 13, 2017, adding hundreds of graduates to the global network of Emmanuel alumni who are making their mark on the world. At the ceremony, speakers congratulated the graduates on their achievements while also calling on members of the Class of 2017 to serve their communities and work for a greater good. This message was central to the remarks given by Commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient Rosanne Haggerty, M.A., President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Solutions, a New York-based organization dedicated to ending homelessness, strengthening communities and fighting poverty. Emmanuel's other honorary degree recipients were also praised for their dedication to helping others and for their professional achievements. At the event, the College conferred an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree on Wayne A. Budd, Esq., Senior Counsel at Goodwin Procter LLP, and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree on Elaine El-Khawas, Ph.D., Professor Emerita of Education Policy at George Washington University and long-serving member of the Emmanuel College Board of Trustees.

This spring, six Emmanuel College students were inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, is the only honor society for graduate and upper-level undergraduate students of government in the United States.

This spring, 10 Emmanuel College students were inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the international sociology honor society. Alpha Kappa Delta seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.

This spring, 10 Emmanuel College students were inducted into Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society. Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society is the international honor society of science and engineering. One of the oldest and largest scientific organizations in the world, Sigma Xi has a distinguished history of service to science and society for more than one hundred and twenty five years. Scientists and engineers, whose research spans the disciplines of science and technology, comprise the membership of the Society. Sigma Xi chapters can be found at colleges and universities, government laboratories, and industry research centers around the world. More than 200 Nobel Prize winners have been members.

This spring, 21 Emmanuel College students were inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society. Founded in 1924, the Society confers distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate and professional studies.

This spring, 26 Emmanuel College students were inducted into Pi Lambda Theta, one of the nation's most prestigious education honor societies. Established in 1910, Pi Lambda Theta serves to recognize outstanding students who intend to pursue careers in education. With more than 185,000 individuals who have been inducted across the nation, membership signifies a commitment to academic excellence and the teaching profession.

This spring, 10 Emmanuel College students were inducted into the Tau Gamma Chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society. Gamma Sigma Epsilon is a national chemistry honor society focused on academic excellence in and out of the classroom.

This spring, 11 Emmanuel College students were inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history. The mission of Phi Alpha Theta is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.

This spring, 20 Emmanuel College students were inducted into Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology. Psi Chi was founded in 1929 and its mission is to recognize and promote excellence in the science and application of psychology.

During the Spring 2016 semester, nearly 30 Emmanuel students were inducted into the College's circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society.
